I’m a solo playwright based in Toronto with a completed script for a musical adaptation of my book. The story follows a 16-year-old girl, Danisha, as she uncovers her grandmother’s past as a jazz singer in Detroit during the 1940s. I know where the songs should be placed and the genres needed, including jazz, blues, ballads, and rap, but I need a music composer with creative and diverse skills to help bring the musical aspects of the play to life.
