Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Freelance Web Developer and Designer to bring innovative digital solutions to life. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in front-end and back-end development, web design, and system architecture to create engaging, responsive, and user-friendly websites and applications. Your contributions will directly impact the online presence of diverse clients, helping them achieve their digital goals through cutting-edge technology and creative design. The responsibilities include finishing the Etsy storefront and developing a gallery for the sale of artwork, with future needs including a peptide storefront.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain websites and web applications using a broad range of technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails, and ASP.NET.
• Design intuitive user interfaces and user flows that enhance user experience (UX) and ensure responsive web design across all devices.
• Implement front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Bootstrap, and Vue.js to create engaging visual interfaces.
• Build robust back-end systems utilizing frameworks like Django, Spring Framework, Node.js, Express.js, and Ruby on Rails; integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL for seamless data exchange.
• Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, and others; optimize queries for performance and scalability.
• Utilize version control systems such as GitHub and SVN; participate in Agile development cycles using tools like Jira and Trello for project management.
• Deploy applications using DevOps practices with Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, Tomcat servers, and Linux environments.
• Conduct unit testing to ensure code quality; perform system architecture planning to support scalable solutions; implement SEO best practices for improved visibility.
• Collaborate with clients to develop wireframes and prototypes; incorporate feedback to refine designs; ensure adherence to best practices in web design standards.
• Maintain documentation of development processes; stay updated with emerging technologies to continuously enhance project outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in full-stack web development with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive websites and applications.
• Extensive knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), JavaScript (and TypeScript), jQuery, AJAX, XML, JSON; familiarity with UI/UX principles.
• Hands-on experience with back-end frameworks such as Django, Spring Framework, Ruby on Rails, or ASP.NET; proficiency in RESTful API development.
• Solid understanding of database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL Server; experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for deployment and scaling solutions; experience with Docker containers and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile/Scrum; experience using project management tools like Jira or Trello.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality; excellent problem-solving skills are essential.

Additional Information

Pay: $24.87 - $29.95 per hour
