Instrument is a digitally native design and technology company that collaborates with leading brands to craft impactful digital experiences. Since 2005, we have partnered with brands such as Google, Nike, and Uber. We focus not only on design but on building comprehensive solutions through our core offerings: Brand, Marketing, and Product. As part of our freelance network, you will work alongside our teams to bring innovative ideas to life. We welcome creators from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for curiosity, creativity, and craft.

We’re expanding our network of freelance Product Designers, Brand Designers, and Visual Designers to engage with Instrument for future projects. Our work includes digital products, websites, brand experiences, and storytelling. We seek designers who are versatile and collaborative, ready to contribute at various stages of the design process.

We are particularly interested in designers who are available to support upcoming opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience designing digital products, websites, brands, or campaigns
• Strong visual design, typography, and layout skills
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with distributed teams
• Experience presenting work and incorporating feedback from stakeholders
• Proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows
• A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful craft and problem-solving

What You Might Work On

• Designing digital product experiences and marketing websites
• Creating visual systems and brand expressions across digital touchpoints
• Developing concepts, storyboards, and visual narratives
• Partnering with Creative Directors, Design Directors, and cross-functional teams
• Collaborating with motion designers, strategists, writers, and technologists
• Building prototypes, motion studies, and presentation-ready design work
• Extending and documenting design systems and component libraries

What We Offer

The expected contract pay range is $50-110 per hour, determined by location, experience, and skillset. We have three regional pay ranges adjusted for the cost of living. Benefits may be available in accordance with applicable law and company policy, eligibility based on hours worked and duration of assignment.
