Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience and a TS/SCI w/Poly clearance required. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting GHOSTGEM’s software suite of applications and potentially future capabilities as mission needs arise. The role includes software development activities such as implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS and FOSS products, packages, and libraries, and requires a demonstrated understanding of the software development life cycle. The candidate will design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements, and work individually or as part of a team.

Requirements

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Recent software development experience using Java
• Experience developing with the Spring Framework including Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Integration
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containers
• Experience with container orchestration technologies including Kubernetes
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as Bamboo and GitLab CI
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools including Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Familiar with Log Aggregation and Management systems such as Loki
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR nine (9) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is $234K to $241K (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
