Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Web GIS Developer with strong expertise in geospatial technologies, GIS application development, and modern web technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade GIS applications and geospatial services that enable advanced spatial analysis, visualization, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Web GIS applications and geospatial services.
• Build interactive web mapping applications for visualization, analysis, and management of spatial data.
• Develop and integrate GIS services using industry-standard geospatial web services and APIs.
• Work with vector, raster, and tiled geospatial datasets to support business and operational requirements.
• Implement spatial data processing workflows and optimize geospatial data storage and retrieval.
• Develop and maintain integrations with GIS platforms, databases, and external systems.
• Perform spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and map rendering for web-based GIS solutions.
• Ensure application scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts, business stakeholders, and development teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to geospatial data, services, and application functionality.
• Create technical documentation and support deployment, testing, and maintenance activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Geomatics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 6–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and modern web development practices.
• Experience designing and developing enterprise-scale applications.

GIS Expertise

• Strong understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) principles and concepts.
• Experience working with spatial data models and geospatial information systems.
• Knowledge of coordinate reference systems (CRS), map projections, and geodesy concepts.
• Hands-on experience with vector, raster, and tiled geospatial datasets.
• Familiarity with geospatial data formats including GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, WMS, WFS, ArcGIS Services, and Vector Tiles.
• Understanding of spatial indexing, spatial queries, and geospatial data processing workflows.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise GIS applications and geospatial services.
• Familiarity with OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) standards and geospatial web service architectures.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and web application development.
• Knowledge of GIS libraries such as OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, or similar mapping frameworks.
