Job Description

MugsyClicks is seeking talented and fun Portrait Photographers to join our family-owned school portrait company located in San Rafael. We provide school portraiture to over 150 schools in the SF, East Bay, Marin, and Sonoma areas, known for our modern approach and utilization of outdoor landscapes and natural light.

We are looking to expand our team of experienced photographers who specialize in child portraiture, family, weddings, and event photography. Candidates should excel in fast-paced environments and have the ability to create authentic, expressive portraits while coaxing smiles.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to travel to San Rafael headquarters and school locations for transporting gear
• Professional experience in photographing children, families, weddings, or events
• Strong natural-light photography skills (studio lighting experience is a plus)
• Professional references that demonstrate reliability and quality
• Required gear: DSLR or mirrorless camera (Canon Mark III/IV, R5 series, or equivalent), 24–70mm lens, 70–200mm f/2.8–f/4 lens

What You’ll Do

• Photograph students outdoors using natural light
• Create authentic, expressive portraits in a fast-moving environment
• Travel to a school location each day, sometimes two locations
• Work independently as the Make Up Day photographer
• Collaborate with the team on certain days, as per schedule
• Represent MugsyClicks with professionalism and warmth

Schedule & Pay

• Seasonal dates: August – November
• Hours: Monday–Friday, approx. 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Set Schedule: Provided in advance
• Compensation: $50/hr for qualified photographers
• Assignment value: Typically $150–$400 per job
