Job Description

Halogen Engineering is seeking a User Experience Designer who will be responsible for leading the plan, design, and development activities to create the user experience for devices, tools, and systems. Responsibilities include establishing interactive conventions, gathering user requirements, creating screen mock-ups, and participating in discussions with development teams and subject matter experts. The designer will apply visualization and screen design expertise to create a successful user experience.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience conducting usability testing, interviews, and/or contextual inquiry directly with end users.
• Comfortable assisting research sessions alongside a UX lead; experience independently running research studies end-to-end is a plus.
• Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, with demonstrated experience preferred.
• Strong note-taking and data organization skills.
• Reliable, detail-oriented execution of research protocols.
• Experience with Information Technology: Three (3) years experience with screen mock-up tools (e.g., Powerpoint, Visio, Axure).

Desired Skills

• Operate in an agile development environment with weekly UX feedback delivery.
• Conduct User Experience research and optimization.
• Create final visual designs, storyboards, interaction flows, and interface guidelines.
• Work with Product Owners to prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions.
• Review implementation with front-end developers to ensure design standards are followed.
• Manage diverse engineering teams in conducting User Experience research.

Qualifications

• Ten years’ experience in User Experience Design.
• Five years’ experience leading project life cycle design within the last ten years.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent User Experience Design experience.

Salary and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $126K-$151K annually. Salary is determined by various factors such as location and the individual’s qualifications.
