Job Description

We are seeking a Cognos Developer located in Toronto, ON for a hybrid work model requiring 3 days at the client office. This position is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate should have 6-8 years of relevant experience.

The primary responsibilities include designing, developing, and supporting enterprise reporting solutions using IBM Cognos to enable data-driven decision-making in the insurance and financial services sectors. Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining Cognos reports, dashboards, and frameworks using Report Studio and Cognos Analytics, as well as optimizing report performance while ensuring data accuracy and governance.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience as a Cognos Developer.
• Strong expertise in Cognos Data Integration.
• Proficient in designing data models, packages, and metadata layers for business reporting.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to support production issues, enhancements, and release deployments.
• Experience integrating Cognos with enterprise data platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure data services).
• Familiarity with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation, and documentation.
