Job Description

We’re looking for a beauty-obsessed, chronically online creator to help build and grow Betches’s newest vertical: Betches Style. This role is for someone who lives for beauty discourse, knows what’s going viral before it hits their FYP, and can turn product launches, red carpet moments, skincare trends, and makeup hacks into highly shareable content.

On Betches Style, we aim to break down what’s actually worth the hype and make beauty feel approachable for people with busy schedules, limited budgets, and bathroom counters that are already overflowing. We aren’t afraid to laugh at ourselves with memes or deliver a hot take that says what everyone’s thinking, but we also balance that with original video and photo content that helps Zillennials navigate an ever-changing beauty landscape without the gatekeeping, jargon, or pressure to be perfect.

Our ideal candidate understands both beauty culture and internet culture, and has editorial and social media experience creating content for a Zillennial audience. You should be able to write sharp, witty, self-aware beauty commentary that makes our audience feel like they’re getting recommendations, trend analysis, and honest opinions from their cool, beauty-savvy older sister.

Qualifications

Required

• 3-5+ years of experience working in beauty-related media
• A portfolio showcasing strong editorial and social media skills
• Expert understanding of TikTok and Instagram, especially what works right now in style content.
• Ability to move fast, react to live moments, and hit tight turnarounds.

Preferred

• Experience working with beauty-related media, digital publishers, or creator-led brands.
• Demonstrated on-camera experience delivering commentary, reactions, or personality-driven content in a short-form format.
• Familiarity with social analytics and performance-driven iteration.
• Understanding of how organic social content supports broader brand, editorial, or sponsorship goals.
• A genuine fan of Betches who understands our voice, humor, and cultural influence.

Roles & Responsibilities

Content Creation

• Create beauty content for Betches Style’s Instagram, including memes, graphics, trend-breakdown carousels, and reactive explainers.
• Concept, shoot, edit, and publish short-form social video across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Serve as a recurring on-camera personality and visible face of Betches Style across short-form platforms. This role requires confidently delivering reactions, takes, breakdowns, and commentary directly to camera in a way that feels smart, funny, and distinctly Betches.
• Translate breaking beauty news and live moments into timely, culturally fluent content.
• Develop content tied to the beauty calendar including viral moments, awards shows, fashion week, and product launches.
• Maintain a consistent Betches Style voice: honest and relatable.

Real-Time & Live Coverage

• Provide live and reactive coverage for major beauty moments, including select nights and weekends.
• Balance proactive planning with reactive content during fast-moving news cycles.
• Identify moments worth amplifying in real time and execute quickly.

Beauty POV & Cultural Fluency

• Bring deep knowledge of all-things beauty.
• Identify which beauty moments are internet stories—and know how to frame them for a women-first, culture-forward audience.
• Proactively pitch video ideas tied to the style calendar, social chatter, and breaking news.

Social Ownership & Community

• Contribute to and help manage the social posting calendar and cadence.
• Engage with comments and community conversations to reinforce brand voice and deepen fan connection.
• Monitor social chatter and fan sentiment to inform content decisions.
• Create content designed to drive engagement, debate, saves, shares, and group chat moments, not just passive views.

Technical & Creative Skills

• Edit quickly and confidently using Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
• Strong instincts for pacing, captions, framing, audio, and storytelling optimized for mobile and short attention spans.
• Comfortable with creator-style, lo-fi production when it serves the moment—this does not need to feel overly polished.
• Bonus: experience with motion graphics, After Effects, or advanced captioning workflows.

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this role is $30 an hour, and a commitment of up to 20 hours per week.
