Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with over 20 years of experience in developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems. The role involves working with processing-intensive analytics, algorithm development, manipulation of large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems based on documented requirements. The candidate will work independently or in a team, review and test software components for design adherence, resolve software issues, and provide insights into system design including hardware/software trade-offs and requirements analysis.

The projected salary range for this position is $232K to $239K annually, determined by various factors such as location, individual qualifications, and organizational requirements.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• On-call support for system operations.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including deployment, automation, cloud infrastructure, and production support.
• Operational ownership experience in software engineering, deployment, automation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Analyze user requirements and derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development processes.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Integrate existing software into modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop data queries for databases or data repositories.
• Write or review software and system documentation.
• Serve as team lead depending on the software development process used.
• Design and implement algorithms to meet system performance standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Modify existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor operation to meet specifications.

Qualifications

Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Alternatively, four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on similar projects may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
