Job Description

This is a remote position for a Senior Data Analyst (Part-Time) with Service New Brunswick (SNB) – Symbio Program under the Clinical Information Solution (CIS) / Data Management department. The role is remote (Canada) with quarterly travel to New Brunswick as required. The duration of employment is 2 years (from July 13, 2026, to July 12, 2028) with renewal options. The position is contracted for approximately 2–3 business days per week.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Symbio Clinical Information Solution (CIS) Program, a major healthcare transformation initiative. Responsibilities include defining data retention strategies, supporting healthcare data migration, establishing data quality standards, and ensuring compliance while maintaining access to historical clinical information.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Requirements & Strategy: Lead documentation and prioritization of health information retention requirements; define datasets for CIS migration; recommend historical data retention strategies.
  • Data Validation & Quality: Establish data quality standards; support development of data quality frameworks; define data profiling requirements.
  • Master Data Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop master data strategies; manage core datasets including patients, providers, and locations.
  • Data Mapping & Transformation: Develop source-to-target data mapping rules; create ETL specifications; support data migration from legacy systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with various teams to gather and validate business and technical data requirements; facilitate workshops in both English and French.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as data management plans, specifications, and migration frameworks.
  • Data Migration Support: Assist the implementation team in profiling legacy data, data extraction, cleansing recommendations, and validation.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • M1: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • M2: Minimum 7 years of experience in data requirements gathering and validation, data extraction, and developing ETL specifications.
  • M3: Minimum 10 years of healthcare experience focusing on health information systems and healthcare technology.
  • M4: Minimum of 5 years delivering healthcare data migration projects within Canadian hospital environments.
  • M5: Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops in English and French.
  • M6: Resume must be a maximum of 5 pages, focusing on scored requirements and project deliverables.
  • M7: Candidate must not be associated with RFP #8025087-25 due to Conflict of Interest requirements.

Scored Qualifications

  • S1: Experience in healthcare data assessment & conversion (5+ years).
  • S2: Collaboration experience with business and clinical stakeholders (5+ years).
  • S3: Strong knowledge of data governance and data quality management (5+ years).
  • S4: Hands-on experience with SQL and Microsoft Excel (3+ years).

Additional Information

This position requires the candidate to be available during standard SNB business hours and travel to New Brunswick at least once per quarter if required. There are 3 openings for this position.
