Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Applications Systems Python Developer to design, develop, and support data pipelines, dashboards, integrations, and migration processes across enterprise systems. This role plays a key part in moving data between legacy and modern platforms ensuring data quality and enabling analytics and automation through Python and PowerBI.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data migration scripts, ETL pipelines, and automation workflows using Python.
• Design, build, and optimize data models for reporting and analytics.
• Create interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading between databases, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Optimize data processes for speed, reliability, and scalability.
• Work with SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support migration and reporting.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including cloud apps, on premises systems, and flat files.
• Collaborate with business teams to define reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze data quality issues, reconcile datasets, and implement best practices for data integrity.
• Implement automation for recurring data tasks and reporting workflows.
• Maintain documentation for data processes, source mappings, and migration steps.
• Participate in architecture, design, and planning sessions for data modernization projects.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python: Required 7 Years
• Proficiency with Power BI: Required 5 Years
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Ingres): Required 7 Years
• Senior level experience writing optimized SQL queries and analyzing existing SQL queries for performance improvements: Required 7 Years
• Solid understanding of SOAP/REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices: Required 5 Years
• Experience designing and executing data migration or data conversion projects: Required 7 Years
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements: Required 7 Years
• Familiarity with legacy system migration projects: Highly desired 5 Years
• Experience with large-scale migration or modernization initiatives: Highly desired 5 Years
• Experience with Java development: Highly desired 5 Years
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP): Desired 3 Years
• Knowledge of Power BI administration, workspaces, gateways, and deployment strategies: Desired 3 Years
• Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines: Desired 3 Years
• Experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenance: Nice to have 3 Years

This is an on-site position. Candidates local to Raleigh, NC only, please.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
