Job Description

Barclays Services Corp. seeks a Sr ETL Developer, AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available). The role involves designing, developing, and operating a data lake platform using technologies such as Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Sqoop, Hive, PIG, and SQL. Responsibilities include building various ETL analytics and data components, collaborating with business users to understand data onboarding requirements, and developing AbInitio Graph, Plan, and Unix shell scripts.

The position includes troubleshooting during project development life cycles and supporting system integration and user acceptance testing. The role also requires managing a team of junior and mid-level developers and potentially allows for telecommuting.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of AbInitio products (e.g., Continuous Flow, Express It, Query It) and concepts of Hadoop, Kafka, and Messaging Queue.
• Experience in creating high-level design documents and exhaustive data maps.
• Ability to develop high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements.
• Experience in code reviews and promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and implementation of unit testing.
• Leadership skills to manage a team effectively, including setting objectives and coaching employees.
• Ability to consult on complex issues and support resolution of escalated issues.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex information effectively.

Additional Information

Minimum Salary: $189,592 per year

Maximum Salary: $195,000 per year

The above salary information includes only base salary or hourly rate and does not include any other type of compensation or benefits.
