Job Description

ApertureAlley is seeking experienced, detail-oriented freelance videographers to film legal depositions across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, including remote work. This is a 1099 contract opportunity offering $30-$40+ per hour, with tolls and parking reimbursed. Ideal candidates will have strong weekday availability (Monday–Friday), and be open to assignments up to 60 to 90 minutes away.

Requirements

Equipment Requirements:

• Professional camcorder with XLR input and date/time stamp (720P or higher, no 4K)
• Sturdy tripod
• 4-channel audio mixer and 4–5 XLR lavalier mics (no wireless)
• XLR cables
• Gray, Blue, White, or black backdrop ideal
• Primary and Secondary laptop (iPads typically not sufficient)
• Headphones
• HDMI Capture Card
• Reliable transportation (personal vehicle)

Remote Equipment:

• 2 Laptops OR 2 Desktops
• External Monitor
• Quiet space to work
• Fast Internet

Qualifications:

• Legal Videography Experience
• Trial Presentation Experience
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Strong understanding of video production workflow
• Excellent communication and customer service skills via phone, text, email, and Slack
• Proficiency with computers and software such as OBS, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word

Compensation

• Onsite Coverage: $150 appearance fee + $35 - $40/hour after the first 2 hours
• Remote Coverage: $30/hour (2-hour minimum per job)
• Tolls and parking reimbursed
• Payment terms: NET 90 (often paid earlier depending on client)

Other Information

This position is a freelance contractor role. Candidates must own their own gear and manage their taxes. It is advised that this should not be the sole source of income; candidates must be true freelancers with other clients.
