Position Title: Senior Java Developer
Location: Washington, DC 20003
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Overview: The Senior Java Developer position requires in-depth knowledge of Java and J2EE background using Spring Technologies framework, design and architectural styles / APIs (REST/RPC) and Agile methodologies for the development of application programs. The role focuses on modernizing the Enterprise Application “Destiny” project, leveraging new digital technologies to improve services and enhance operations for a District of Columbia government agency.
Role Description: You will design, develop, and test applications using Java technologies, understanding the current system infrastructure and methodologies in the process. Your primary focus will be on Java programming and supporting the organization’s ecosystem.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
Required Skills:
- Core Java development with strong back-end development - 10 Years
- Java – Annotations, Generics, Reflection, Inheritance, OO Design, NIO, Bean Validation - 5 Years
- Spring Boot application development - 3 Years
- Spring – Java Config, Dependency Injection, Autowiring - 3 Years
- Spring Integration development - 3 Years
- Spring Web Services development - 3 Years
- Preparing complex technical documentation - 16+ Years
- Synchronous and Asynchronous programming - 3 Years
- Maven project build experience - 3 Years
- Git version control repository experience - 3 Years
- Tomcat / Jetty / Undertow application servers experience - 3 Years
- Linux working environment experience - 3 Years
- JIRA issue tracker experience - Required
- Conveying technical and functional concepts - 16 Years
- Must have enough experience to qualify for a Master Level position - Required
- Red Hat OpenShift container-based application development - 1 Year (Desired)
- Working with mainframe CICS containers and JCA connectors - 1 Year (Desired)
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practice - 1 Year (Desired)
