Job Description

Chakrra LLC is seeking a remote writer/co-writer based in Colombia to join its writing team for a webseries of biopics. The role involves creating a culture-specific script that is region-specific. Experience in writing scripts or screenplays for biopics is a significant advantage. The script will be written in English, and proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. Collaboration will primarily take place via MS Teams and Google Meet, during specified core hours.

Job Requirements

• Strong narrative skills in scriptwriting and screenplays for episodic biographical content.
• Experience in writing character-driven stories, including dialogue, structure, and pacing.
• Familiarity with video production processes and the ability to write scripts that effectively translate to screen.
• Demonstrated research skills, handling real-life subjects with accuracy and sensitivity.
• Ability to accept and incorporate feedback, revise multiple drafts, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working closely with a producer and other creative partners.
• Prior experience in film, television, or digital series writing is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Screenwriting, Creative Writing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Sample Script Requirements

Applicants should submit samples of their written work. Preferred samples include:

• Short films
• Feature films
• Webseries (non-documentary)
• Biopics (HUGE BONUS!!)
• Screenplays

Dialog writers who have contributed to screenplays, either solo or in collaboration, will also be considered. Samples not sought include scripts for social media posts, research theses, and technical scripts for software, including AI/ML.

Additional Information

Celtx is the preferred screenwriting software, and all team members must have their own copy for workflow ease. The contract duration is 3 months, with remote working arrangements. The pay is up to $1,500.00 per hour, and benefits include a flexible schedule. Appropriate screen credits will be assured.
