Position Title: Platform Engineer, Azure / DevOps

Position Location: This hybrid position is located in Richmond, VA.

Your Role: As a member of the Platform Administration Team, you will influence the design, implementation, and support of cloud-based solutions, primarily focusing on Azure. This role involves managing technology solutions across our cloud and on-premise ecosystems.

Job Requirements

What You Will Be Doing:

• Administer and configure Azure Synapse Analytics workspaces, Azure Databricks, and Confluent Cloud.
• Develop repeatable infrastructure-as-code automation via Terraform.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Azure-based solution delivery.
• Maintain Azure infrastructure with a focus on high availability, scalability, and security.
• Drive adoption, automation, and optimization of technologies that support DevSecOps paradigms.
• Build IT solutions on high-performance, scalable infrastructure.
• Aid developers and business stakeholders in designing and securely using tools and solutions.
• Support existing DevSecOps tools and refine our ecosystem.
• Monitor system performance and optimize resources.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, outages, and other technical challenges.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Generate and review reports on system performance and usage.
• Cross-train team members on best practices and secure implementation of Azure tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to deliver top-tier Cloud/Azure solutions.

What You Bring:

• A positive, customer-first attitude.
• In-depth Azure expertise, particularly with Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Databricks.
• Strong understanding of Confluent Cloud, Delta Lakes, SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with security best practices in enterprise cloud environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in process improvement, automation, and support in a regulated enterprise environment.
• 2+ years in architecture and/or cloud-native roles.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-code for cloud services using Terraform.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps paradigms including CI/CD and containerization.
• A passion for building cloud-hosted solutions across multiple cloud providers.

National Range: $77,800-$117,000

High-Cost Range (includes New York): $97,300-$146,000
