Job Description

This is a remote position. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for delivering enterprise-class cloud design and solutions to clients by leveraging your expertise in architecture and execution across the Azure platform. The Cloud Architect will collaborate with our clients across all phases, including planning, design, development, and deployment, in order to satisfy their needs, with an emphasis on Azure and cloud technologies.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients and project managers to determine and manage expectations for project delivery
• Design and direct projects for multiple clients
• Develop specifications for functional design and implementation plans
• Produce high-quality deliverables in accordance with signed Statements of Work (SOW)
• Provide project sponsors with architecture review and project milestone sessions
• Delegate duties and priorities to implementation personnel
• Ensure that project delivery processes are implemented and followed
• Ensure that technical solutions provide value to the organization
• Communicate with technical and commercial personnel in plain and technical English
• Develop business requirements in partnership with business analysts
• Assist customers in identifying their on-premises, cloud, and hybrid needs and capabilities
• Consult with clients regarding design principles, best practices, deployment techniques, and adoption
• Design cloud architectures, environments, and solutions that fit the client’s specifications
• Utilize best practices to ensure the long-term viability of the client’s environment
• Assist with the drafting and editing of Statements of Work (SOWs)
• Provide architectural design and direction to other team members
• Mentor and orient intermediate and junior solution consultants
• Provide enterprise community leadership via social media, articles, speaking engagements, seminars, and conferences
• Complete certification exams pertinent to the position and company competencies
• Establish and maintain solid relationships with technical and line-of-business contacts

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience as a solutions consultant, architect, or in a similar role
• 6+ years of business experience
• Demonstrated mastery of multiple cloud technologies in the Microsoft stack (Azure IaaS and PaaS)
• Familiarity with alternative cloud technologies (AWS, Google, etc.) is a plus
• Demonstrated expertise in consulting and/or project management
• Experience designing and administering on-premises and cloud-based (Azure) infrastructure and platform components
• Experience designing and administering underlying infrastructure concepts and technologies, including Active Directory, ADFS, on-premises compute, networking, and storage
• Experience designing and administering many Azure services (Azure IaaS, Azure PaaS, storage, networking compute, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft certification preferred
• Cloud certifications are highly desirable
• Master’s degree in Business Administration
