3D Character Artist – Unity Fighting Game (Contract) - Expression of Interest

3D Animator is needed in Australia.

Windreeve Games is an indie studio building an unannounced timing-based, skill-driven fighting game for PC (Steam) in Unity. We need a 3D character artist to sculpt, texture, and prepare a game-ready base character body for our Vertical Slice milestone — a single stylised, athletic female base mesh that will serve as our shared placeholder body across classes ahead of full character production. Scope: high-to-low poly workflow, PBR texturing, clean topology and UVs prepared for a custom Unity skeleton — rigging is handled separately by our rigger, so we just need a clean, deformation-ready, unrigged mesh from you. This is a tightly scoped single-body contract, ideal for testing a working relationship, with strong potential to continue into additional class bodies as we move into Alpha/Beta (team scaling toward ~20 in that phase).

Please note: this posting is an expression of interest, not an immediate hire. The role is contingent on Windreeve Games receiving Screen Australia Games Production Fund / Screen Queensland grant funding, and we’ll be asking shortlisted candidates for a signed letter of commitment to support the application before any funding decision is made. Budget range:
Approx. AUD $3,000–3,500 fixed (roughly 75–80 hours at ~AUD $40/hr). Potential follow-on paid work into Alpha/Beta.
