Sound Editor is needed in Brighton, United Kingdom.
Big Wave Productions is seeking a Sound Edit Assistant for a full-time, 12–16 week contract starting in September 2026. The role is office-based in Brighton, with applicants willing to travel also considered. The successful candidate will have around one year of TV factual experience as a Sound Assistant in a post-production environment and be ready to progress into a junior sound editor role. This opportunity is not intended for recent graduates or candidates who already have a Junior Sound Editor credit.
You should be confident using Pro Tools for session setup, editing, track management, importing AAFs and conforming to picture changes. You will also need knowledge of EQ, compression, limiting, reverb and noise reduction, along with experience using sound effects libraries and audio asset management software such as Soundminer or BaseHead. Strong session organisation, stereo sound design, ambience and spot effects skills are required. Natural history experience, knowledge of sound edit-to-mix handover practices, and awareness of EBU R128 loudness standards are desirable.
