Agave Live LLC - Contractor UI/UX Designer

UX Designer is needed in Provo, United States.

Client: Agave Live LLC

Location: Provo, UT

Contract: Contract

Job Description

Join Agave as a Contract UX/UI Designer. Are you a freelance UX/UI designer who loves turning complex ideas into experiences that feel clear, intuitive, and easy to use? Agave is a VC-backed startup building a digital prize and engagement platform for professional sports teams, influencers, entertainment brands, and other organizations. We move fast, think big, and care deeply about creating experiences that work just as well as they look.

We’re looking for a product-focused UX/UI Designer to help improve and expand the Agave platform on a project-by-project basis. You’ll work alongside Agave’s product and development teams to design specific product features, user journeys, and platform experiences. This role is solely focused on UX/UI product design. It does not include social media graphics, campaign creative, branding, marketing collateral, video editing, or general graphic design.

Requirements

Strengths

• A user-first mindset and the ability to turn complicated requirements into simple workflows
• A sharp eye for confusing interactions, inconsistencies, missing states, and usability problems
• Confidence in your design decisions combined with openness to feedback and clear communication
• The ability to manage your own time, work independently, and deliver against agreed project milestones

Skills

• Strong proficiency in Figma; working knowledge of HTML/CSS is helpful but not required
• Experience with user flows, personas, customer journey mapping, and information architecture
• A clear process from wireframes to black-and-white structure, then polished color design
• Interaction design with complete loading, empty, error, success, and other product states
• Mobile-first responsive design, ADA accessibility, usability heuristics, visual hierarchy, scalable design systems, and developer-ready handoffs

Types of Projects You’ll Work On

• Product Platforms: SaaS applications, CRM interfaces, admin portals, and data-heavy dashboards
• Journeys and Workflows: Customer journey mapping, multi-step onboarding, forms, and workflow builders
• Responsive and Conversion Experiences: Mobile-first products, analytics and reporting views, and high-conversion landing pages
• Interaction and Design Systems: Fast iterations, prototypes, complete product states, scalable components, developer handoff, and design QA

What You Bring to the Table

• Professional UX/UI or product design experience
• A strong portfolio showing relevant product work such as SaaS, CRM, dashboards, admin portals, onboarding, workflow builders, or analytics views
• Case studies that demonstrate your process, reasoning, and final design decisions
• The ability to manage your time, maintain tight feedback loops, and deliver against agreed milestones
• Availability for required in-person workshops, reviews, and working sessions in Provo, Utah

Additional Information

Compensation

• Project-Based or Hourly compensation based on scope and experience
• Flexible schedule based on project needs
• Potential for additional projects or a longer-term engagement
