Job Description

We are looking for a Data Analyst for a long-term mission with a hybrid work model (2 days onsite in Brussels). The ideal candidate is a pro-active “data geek” and “energy geek” with knowledge in data mining, data processing (mainly in Python), and data visualization (PowerBI, React.js). Familiarity with an economic dispatch tool such as ANTARES and a minimum knowledge of energy systems is also required.

The consultant will be part of the SMA team and will perform various tasks, including improving the data management process, exploring simulation data, benchmarking visualizations, creating visuals from simulation outputs, and proposing a user-friendly interface for data exploration.

Requirements

Hard Skills:

• Python: Must have knowledge of Python, as it is extensively used for data management at SMA.
• PowerBI: Must be proficient in PowerBI, which is used for visualization at SMA.
• React.js: Nice to have, for specific visualization types within SMA.
• ANTARES: Familiarity with ANTARES or general knowledge of economic dispatch tools is a plus.

Soft Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of experience.
• Knowledge and interest in the energy market.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Analytical and innovative mindset.
• Passion for diving into data and creating impactful visuals.
• Interest in delivering high-quality tools for team improvement.
• Desire to invest in a medium-term team position for challenging projects and expertise growth.
• Interest in energy transition and electricity sector challenges.
• Good command of Dutch and/or French and English is required.
