We’re a dynamic Business Information Systems Consulting firm that thrives on delivery. Our clients span banking, financial services, manufacturing, FMCG, and recruitment — and we’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer who brings commitment, drive, and a positive attitude to the table.
This is a hands-on upper mid-level/senior role. You’ll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to turn product requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable production software.
Requirements
Core Technical Requirements:
Strong commercial experience in most of the following:
- C# and modern .NET
- ASP.NET Core
- RESTful API design and third-party integrations
- PostgreSQL, SQL Server or another enterprise relational database
- Entity Framework Core or a comparable ORM
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Git-based source control
- Unit, integration and automated testing
- Object-oriented programming and software design principles
- Dependency injection and separation of concerns
- Authentication, authorization and role-based access control
- Secure web application development
- Cloud-hosted applications
- Docker or similar container technologies
- Automated build, testing and deployment processes
Advantageous Experience:
- AWS or another major cloud platform
- React, Next.js or a comparable frontend framework
- Multi-tenant SaaS platforms
- High-volume enterprise applications
- Workflow-driven business systems
- Background processing and asynchronous workloads
- Application monitoring and performance optimization
- Single sign-on and identity-provider integrations
- Reporting and analytics platforms
- AI-enabled product features
- AI-assisted software development tools
AI-Assisted Development:
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
- Understand that generated code and technical outputs must be independently reviewed, tested and validated.
- Maintain full accountability for the quality, security and maintainability of delivered software.
- Apply sound engineering judgement rather than relying uncritically on generated outputs.
- Willing to adapt as development tools and practices evolve.
Security and Quality:
- Practical understanding of secure authentication and session management.
- Role- and permission-based access control.
- Secure API design.
- Input validation and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
- OWASP secure development principles.
- Logging, monitoring and audit trails.
- Protection of confidential and personal information.
- Code quality, maintainability and testability.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Approximately five or more years of relevant commercial software development experience.
- Strong recent experience developing production software using C# and .NET.
- Experience delivering meaningful features from requirement through to production.
- Experience working within a professional software development team.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent practical experience and a strong technical track record may be considered in place of a formal qualification.
