Job Description

Halogen Engineering Group is looking for a Software Engineer responsible for implementing access controls and permission mechanisms to secure access to critical HPC system resources. The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing software systems based on documented requirements. Candidates will work individually or as part of a team and are expected to review and test software components, resolve software problem reports, and utilize appropriate software development methodologies.

Requirements

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) for task automation
• Basic Linux systems administration including User and Group Management
• Experience implementing Access Controls and permissions (RBAC and HBAC) in a Linux environment
• Experience developing software solutions using Python
• Familiar with IAM solutions such as KeyCloak, FreeIPA, SSSD, LDAP, Kerberos
• Experience developing Ansible playbooks for automation orchestration
• Familiarity with HPC hardware and software components
• Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins
• Experience with Git Source Control System

Desired Skills

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, PodMan
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
• Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with three years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with five years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs.
• OR Seven years of experience as a Software Engineer in similar programs.

Salary Range

The projected salary range for this position is $218K to $225K annually. Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.
