Job Description
The role involves developing interior design solutions that align with client goals and project requirements through all phases, from schematic design to construction administration. Responsibilities include coordinating design efforts with consultants, leading project teams, mentoring junior members, managing multiple projects, creating detailed plans and 3D renderings, and ensuring compliance with building codes. The position also requires participation in client meetings, overseeing the submittal process, assisting with permitting processes, and participating in project closeout activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited university.
- Approximately 8+ years of professional interior design experience.
- Relevant project experience in K-12 education, workplace, municipal, or library projects.
- Experience with ground-up construction and renovation projects.
- Proficiency in Revit and Enscape.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently across all project phases.
- Experience in FF&E, including research, selection, specification, and coordination.
- Proven leadership skills in managing teams and multiple projects.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standard construction methods.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally approximately twice per month.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.27/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits which may include medical, dental & vision, critical illness, accident and hospital coverage, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short and long-term disability, health spending accounts, transportation benefits, and time off or leave options.
