Job Description

At Morning Brew Inc., we attract and build relationships with the next generation of business leaders by mixing essential information with a unique brand of wit. We are seeking an interim editor for our Brew Markets newsletter for the period of September 14th to January 29th. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day editing and publishing of Brew Markets, ensuring accuracy, engagement, and adherence to our brand standards. Strong editorial judgment, clear communication, and the ability to work under deadlines are essential.

Requirements

• Experience editing in a newsroom or media environment, ideally covering business, markets, or finance.
• Strong understanding of financial news, markets, and investing concepts.
• Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail.
• Comfort working closely with reporters, designers, and editors under tight deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple stories and priorities at once.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Fluency with online publishing tools and collaborative workflows.
• Calm, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Edit and publish Brew Markets newsletters on a regular schedule.
• Assign stories to Brew Markets reporters each day.
• Shape story angles, headlines, structure, and flow for clarity and impact.
• Ensure content adheres to Morning Brew’s style guide, tone, and voice.
• Collaborate with reporters on story development and revisions.
• Coordinate with design and data visualization partners on visual elements.
• Maintain high standards for accuracy, clarity, and readability.
• Manage last-minute changes and breaking news updates when necessary.
• Help keep editorial workflows running smoothly during the leave period.

Compensation

$60-75/hr, commensurate with experience.

Morning Brew Inc. was founded in 2015 by two entrepreneurial college students and has evolved into a multi-channel media company operating over 20 content franchises. In 2020, a majority stake was acquired by Axel Springer SE and full ownership was established by February 2025.
