Job Description

Position Title: BI / Dashboard Developer

BizFirst is assisting the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of the Secretary (OST) in recruiting a skilled and experienced BI / Dashboard Developer. The role supports the Working Capital Fund (WCF), Office of Financial Management (OFM) with IT Financial Management, Cost Model Development, and Systems Integration Support. The position involves building customer-facing proof, specifically a certified drill-down billing view, within a Google-based environment that incorporates Google Workspace and Google Cloud analytics tools.

Requirements

Security Clearance: Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.

Experience: Candidates must have demonstrated hands-on implementation experience in financial reporting, not limited to advisory or strategic consulting. Experience with deployed cost models, executed billing cycles, and operational financial products is required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent additional experience.

Professional Experience: Minimum of 4 years of BI development experience, including semantic-layer modeling (LookML, Power BI datasets/DAX, or equivalent) and strong SQL skills.

Delivery Skills: Proven track record of delivering stakeholder-facing financial dashboards with drill-through capabilities.

Security Implementation: Experience in implementing report-layer security for multi-tenant or multi-customer audiences.

Design Acumen: Critical design judgment for executive and analyst audiences must be exhibited.

Desired Skills

Familiarity with Looker and LookML, Looker Studio; BigQuery as a storage solution; Connected Sheets for analyst access. Additionally, prior experience with Power BI or Tableau is beneficial, along with a background in federal financial reporting contexts, such as WCF billing and Section 508/accessibility testing experience.
