Job Description

Blue Springs Baptist Church is seeking a Pianist/Keyboardist/Musician (acoustic guitar, autoharp, mandolin, fiddle/violin) to fill a Part-time position that includes paid vacation. As Pianist/Keyboardist/Musician, you will have the opportunity to use your calling, passion, musical talents, and expertise to help lead in a meaningful worship experience that glorifies God and edifies others. Requirements

The successful candidate must:

• Be a growing Christian who displays a deep love for Jesus and a strong desire to serve and magnify Him.
• Demonstrate a basic knowledge of music theory, the ability to sight-read music, chord charts, and lead sheets, and perform simple transposition, re-harmonization, and improvisation.
• Work closely with the Minister of Music, Pastor, and other music team members to plan, rehearse (currently on Wednesday evenings), lead, and enhance the weekly worship experience.
• Provide instrumental accompaniment for congregational singing, adult choir, ensembles, and soloists at all weekly (Sunday morning and Wednesday evening) worship and prayer services that incorporate a blended style of traditional hymns, gospel songs, and contemporary/modern music.
• Maintain a comprehensive list of musical selections for use in the weekly worship services, providing musical solos (prelude, offertory, and postlude) and background music for special services (e.g. Lord’s Supper, Baptism, Deacon Ordination, etc.).
• Provide instrumental accompaniment for presentations and activities such as Christmas and Easter cantatas/dramas & vacation bible school.
• Maintain an accurate account of instrument needs, notifying the Minister of Music when maintenance, tuning, repair, or replacement are required.
• Be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Additional Information

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $5,200.00 - $7,800.00 per year
