Job Description

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support Department of Defense, federal, and commercial clients by designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating feature-rich software applications. This role will participate in the full software development lifecycle while contributing to research initiatives through proof-of-concepts and prototype development. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who actively develops in modern programming languages, collaborates effectively with engineering teams and clients, and stays current with emerging technologies. Candidates must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience.
• Active experience programming in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing backend applications.
• API implementation experience.
• Relational and/or NoSQL database experience.
• Mission planning application development experience.
• DoD environment experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development workflows.
• Relevant technical certifications (Scrum, Microsoft, Google, etc.).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niceville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
