We are seeking a senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and administer the Azure infrastructure for an enterprise data and AI platform. This remote contract role focuses on Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Terraform, Azure networking, security, observability, CI/CD, cost management, and capacity planning. You will define platform standards and reference architectures, partner with Databricks administration, data engineering, and data science teams, and provide technical leadership on complex platform decisions.
You should have 6+ years of cloud infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including at least 4 years with Azure, with expert hands-on Terraform and Databricks administration skills. Required experience includes Unity Catalog, Entra ID, SCIM, identity federation, cluster policies, Azure networking and security, ADLS Gen2, ADF platform operations, Python automation, and diagnosing Spark or SQL infrastructure issues. Experience with Azure ML, MLflow, Databricks Asset Bundles, Kubernetes, policy as code, FinOps, and multi-region Databricks deployments is preferred.
