Job Description

DisruptHR Grand Rapids is seeking a local student or early-career videographer to film and edit six speaker presentations during a one-night event on October 21, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a streamlined freelance project with a flat compensation of $500, and it presents an excellent opportunity to add a nationally recognized event series to your portfolio.

Requirements

• Experience filming and editing video.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar software.
• Own or have reliable access to two quality cameras and audio-recording equipment.
• Able to attend the event in Grand Rapids.
• Reliable, organized, and able to meet an agreed-upon delivery deadline.
• Portfolio, demo reel, or work samples required.

Project Responsibilities

• Film six 5-minute speaker presentations.
• Capture each presentation using two camera angles: one static wide shot and one close-up shot.
• Capture clear, usable audio for each speaker.
• Edit each presentation into a clean, standalone video.
• Incorporate 3–5 provided presentation slides into each video.
• Add a provided DisruptHR Grand Rapids opening graphic.
• Deliver six finished HD videos suitable for speakers to share online.

Project Scope

This is a simplified event video project. The scope does not include:

• Networking
• Speaker introduction footage
• Custom animations or advanced graphics
• Promotional highlight videos
• Extensive color grading or audio restoration
• Full incorporation of all 20 presentation slides

Basic editing, audio balancing, color correction, and clean transitions are expected.

Compensation

The total compensation is $500 for filming and delivery of all six edited videos. This is a fixed budget freelance project.
