Illustrator

Hi,
I am looking for an illustrator for an early reader children’s book of 8,000–10,000 words. The project requires colorful cover art and two interior illustrations. The story features a nine-year-old girl (ringette player) who transforms into a bear and fights coyotes, saves snow hares, and other smaller characters, rescuing her grandma.

This is the first of an intended series of eight self-published Amazon books. I am looking to publish the first book by October, with potential follow-up illustration work for several further books next year. (I have three written so far).

For a cover the rough idea I had was a collage, heavily featuring the hero (9 year old girl), in an action pose shooting the ring in Ringette, and then sort of in behind or around its a winter woods scene, moon high, and a coyote with a red amulet around its neck howling, and the a grizzly bear (who she transforms into to) howling. Then of course the book title, etc. in kind of a fantasy font.

Budget range:
Receive offers - likely $200 range is my upper limit at this time. Open to paying out royalties or rev share and a longer term relationship. But have to start small as self publishing this on my own.

About the client
I’m a father of 5, including a young daughter and am working on a set of early reader books. I am self publishing on amazon, and have 3 of 8 books in the series written, and am looking to get them illustrated so I can publish.
