Job Description

Location & Work Arrangement: Candidates may sit in NYC or Dallas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support business and reporting needs.
• Partner closely with SSIS developers to support and troubleshoot ETL packages, data flows, and integration processes.
• Collaborate with Power BI developers to ensure data models and underlying SQL structures support efficient, accurate reporting and dashboarding.
• Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks across source and target systems.
• Tune queries and indexes for performance across large, complex datasets.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications in partnership with stakeholders across the business and technology teams.
• Document data flows, schema changes, and technical processes for ongoing maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, performance issues, and pipeline failures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex T-SQL (SQL Server preferred).
• Demonstrated experience working alongside SSIS developers on ETL/data integration processes.
• Demonstrated experience working alongside Power BI developers, with an understanding of how data models feed reporting layers.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a long-term consulting capacity, managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Financial services experience (asset management, hedge fund, private credit, or related) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Experience supporting front-, middle-, or back-office reporting functions within financial services.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
