Job Description

ExxonMobil has been a leader in the energy sector for over 140 years and is committed to adapting to meet the increasing global demand for energy resources. Raise is partnering with ExxonMobil to build teams through the ExxonMobil Contingent Community. They are seeking an experienced Senior UX Researcher / UX Designer for a 12-month contract based in Spring, TX, which requires a minimum of 3 days onsite. This role will focus on leading user-centered research and design initiatives and is critical for creating exceptional digital experiences.

Responsibilities

UX Research

• Plan, conduct, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research studies.
• Develop research strategies that inform product vision, roadmap prioritization, and design decisions.
• Execute user interviews, contextual inquiries, field studies, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, and competitive analyses.
• Identify customer pain points, behaviors, motivations, and unmet needs.
• Translate research findings into actionable insights, journey maps, personas, and recommendations.
• Communicate research results effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
• Establish and promote research best practices across teams.

UX Design & Enterprise Experience Optimization

• Partner with stakeholders to translate user needs into effective configurations of enterprise platforms and applications.
• Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve usability and user satisfaction.
• Design and document user journeys, task flows, and interaction models.
• Recommend configuration changes and enhancements that align user needs with business objectives.
• Collaborate with vendors to influence product configurations and maximize platform capabilities.
• Create wireframes, workflow diagrams, mockups, and prototypes as needed.
• Conduct usability evaluations and user acceptance testing.
• Drive continuous improvement through user feedback and experience metrics analysis.
• Champion a user-centered approach throughout implementation initiatives.
• Contribute to training and communications strategies.

Strategy & Collaboration

• Partner with Product Managers to define product requirements and success metrics.
• Influence product strategy through customer insights.
• Facilitate design thinking workshops and stakeholder interviews.
• Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
• Mentor junior team members as needed.
• Drive improvements in UX processes and standards.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in UX Research, UX Design, or related disciplines.
• Experience conducting and leading user research initiatives.
• Strong portfolio showcasing research and design deliverables.
• Proficiency in tools like Figma, Miro, UserTesting, and similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of usability principles and interaction design best practices.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in HCI, Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Experience designing enterprise software or SaaS platforms.
• Knowledge of mixed-method research techniques.
• Experience managing large-scale research programs.
• Familiarity with design systems and component-based design.
• Experience mentoring UX professionals.
