Software Engineer is needed in Gatineau, Canada.
We are seeking a Senior C++/C Software Engineer for a fixed-term, on-site role in Gatineau, Quebec, through the end of Q1 2027. You will support the modernisation of a mission-critical telecommunications call-handling platform, including migrating CentOS 7 virtual machines to RHEL 9 and moving 32-bit C++ subsystems to a 64-bit architecture. You will work alongside an established engineering team, helping to maintain a defined migration schedule while the core team focuses on field support.
The role includes C++ development on Linux, bash scripting, OS migration automation, modernising Java web configurators, testing and releasing the migrated system, updating CI/CD and DevOps tooling, and carrying out security testing and remediation. Candidates need at least five years of C++ and Linux development experience, along with strong knowledge of networking, virtualisation, and security. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship and able to work on-site in Gatineau. Experience with high-availability real-time systems, Python, Java or C#, CI/CD tools, Linux migrations, agentic AI for software engineering, or telephony infrastructure is beneficial.
