Animator for documentary about a 5 day silent meditation retreat.
The finished documentary is approximately 8 minutes. Animation will be intercut with filmed interviews rather than running continuously. The current rough cut contains approximately 3–5 minutes of animated/illustrated material, mostly made up of short sequences and individual shots.
I already have a rough visual direction using layered washi-paper/collage imagery, but I’m looking for an animator/art director who can help refine that language and determine which sequences actually need movement. Some images may remain almost completely still, while others require more natural human movement.
Initial paid test: Before committing to a larger collaboration, I’d like to start with a small paid visual/animation test based on material from the existing film. The idea is to see how you might interpret and build on the visual language already established. I’m thinking around CAD $150 for the initial test, with the scope kept appropriately small for that budget.
