2 Character Reference Sheets with More Work for Someone Who Is Actually Invested

Character Designer is needed in United States.

I am looking for a character artist to create two professional reference sheets for Thorne and Daela, characters from my original grounded, cinematic sci-fi/fantasy series. I have visual references and a clear direction already, so I need an artist who can develop the existing concepts into consistent, detailed character sheets rather than redesigning them. Each sheet should include useful turnaround views, facial close-ups, consistent proportions, costume details where needed, and clean high-resolution final files suitable as official references for future illustrators. Commercial usage rights are required.

I value reliable communication, realistic timelines, and an artist who follows the agreed direction. I would like to review initial sketches before making a payment, due to previous unsuccessful commissions. This could lead to further work on additional characters, creatures, environments, and illustrations if the first two sheets are successful.

Budget range:
Up to $400

About the client
ABOUT ME: I’m an independent writer working on an original sci-fi project, and I already have a couple of stories finished and ready to begin illustrating. I’m also a family man trying to seriously pursue something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. This project means a lot to me, and I’m putting real time, money, and effort into trying to build it the right way. At this point, I’m honestly exhausted from dealing with people on here who take money, overpromise, disappear, or fail to communicate. I’m not looking for drama or unrealistic expectations — I just want to work with someone reliable who takes the project as seriously as I do. I understand artists are people, life happens, and delays happen. I just value honesty, communication, and people doing what they say they’re going to do.
