Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist for a contract position based in Glasgow with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a machine learning capability from prototype through to production and will play a hands-on delivery role, rather than a research position.

The role offers a pay rate of £600–£700 per day, depending on experience, and is outside IR35. The position is set to start in September 2026 and will be an initial 14-week contract with the potential for extension.

Your responsibilities will include defining clean, modelling-ready datasets, training and optimising models across multiple B2B datasets, building scoring outputs and reporting visualisations, retraining and refining models against live data, and collaborating with CRM and SDR teams.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:

• A proven commercial track record in taking ML models from prototype through to production
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Vertex AI
• Strong skills in Python and SQL
• Experience in feature engineering, statistical validation, and model evaluation
• Comfortable working with messy, imperfect real-world data
• Able to explain model outputs clearly to both technical and commercial audiences

Experience with B2B sales, outbound, CRM, or conversation intelligence data would be a bonus but is not essential.
