Job Description

The AWS Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer role primarily focuses on designing cloud architectures, mainly for Oracle Cloud, along with AWS and Azure. The consultant will work collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and convert them into scalable, secure, multi/hybrid-cloud architectures. This position may also involve guiding engineering teams or enhancing their skills and requires a strong foundation in on-premises infrastructure due to hybrid integrations and migration initiatives. Additionally, the organization aims to expand its Infrastructure-as-Code capabilities. The position is based at MTA Headquarters, NY, with a requirement to work 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Requirements

Certifications: A current Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) certification (Architect Professional or Architect Associate) is strongly preferred.

Key Skills:

• OCI: 6–9 years
• Azure / AWS / GCP: 1–2 years each (nice to have)
• Hybrid Infrastructure: 4–6 years
• Cloud Networking: 4–6 years
• Cloud DevOps / Automation: 4–6 years
• Cloud Security: 2–3 years
• Cloud FinOps: 1–2 years
• Architecture Documentation (Visio or Abacus): 2–3 years

Deep expertise in cloud platforms, services, governance, frameworks, and best practices is essential. Proficiency in OCI is mandatory, with a focus on developing architectures, standards, and governance models for the OCI platform. Experience with other cloud providers is beneficial for multi-cloud initiatives.

Experience in cloud servers and environments, including configuration, patching, network and VLAN configuration, backups, system monitoring, and alerts is also required. Familiarity with the following is preferred:

• Cloud Platforms: Oracle Cloud (OCI), AWS, Azure, GCP
• Database Technologies: Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Golden Gate, RMAN
• Product Architecture and roadmap assessment
• Linux or network administrator skills
• Platforms: Exadata, ExaCC, ExaDB-D, Exascale, DBaaS, OEM
• Architecture: High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Multi-Cloud Architecture
• Automation: Terraform, Ansible, API/CLI automation
• SRE & DevOps: Monitoring, Observability, SLAs/SLOs/SLIs

Additional Skills: Knowledge of Cloud Architecture patterns and AI proficiency.
