Job Description
We’re looking for a part-time contract UI/UX Designer to design responsive websites and digital experiences in Figma, working within our existing component libraries and brand system. You’ll own the design process from concept through developer handoff, you won’t be building the final product yourself, but you’ll need to prototype interactions clearly and leave handoff notes that let developers implement your work with confidence.
Requirements
What You’ll Do:
- Design and iterate on responsive web layouts across a range of projects
- Build and maintain component-based design systems in Figma, working from and extending kits like Relume, Untitled UI, and internal libraries
- Prototype interactions (accordions, scroll behavior, timelines, hover/transition states) so intended behavior is easy to understand and test
- Prepare clear developer handoff notes and annotations (spacing, states, behavior, edge cases) using Figma’s Dev Mode
- Prepare and export production assets (logos, icons, favicons) in the correct formats and color modes
- Maintain typography, color, and spacing consistency across projects using shared styles and variables
- Iterate quickly across multiple design rounds based on stakeholder feedback
What We’re Looking For:
- Detail Oriented
- Strong, current Figma skills (auto layout, components/variants, variables, and prototyping)
- Experience using Figma Dev Mode (or similar) to prepare developer-ready handoff
- Comfort building interactive prototypes to communicate motion, states, and behavior
- Solid understanding of responsive design and systemized UI
- Comfort working from and extending established UI kits (Relume, Untitled UI, or similar)
- Attention to typographic and brand consistency
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively as a remote, part-time contractor
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with how Webflow works (CMS structure, Interactions, breakpoints) helpful for handoff notes, though not required
- Experience with Relume specifically
- SVG/asset export and optimization experience
Other Information
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
