Job Description

The Senior Software Developer will support the Government Services Integration Cluster within the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. The successful candidate will translate technical system specifications into scalable, secure, high-performing applications in a large-scale enterprise environment. This role requires a strong hands-on background in various technologies including Java development, Oracle/SQL databases, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate is expected to engage collaboratively with team members throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical system specifications into working, tested, and maintainable software applications.
• Develop detailed programming and technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain enterprise applications.
• Write high-quality, data-driven application code.
• Conduct unit testing and support application integration and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during software development and production operations.
• Collaborate with IT professionals and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Apply methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Develop scalable Internet-ready applications.
• Design and implement REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.
• Apply microservices architecture principles.
• Implement secure application integration using security gateways and protocols.
• Participate in Agile development activities.
• Elicit and document technical and business requirements from stakeholders.
• Provide post-implementation support and resolve production-related issues.
• Maintain technical, system, and user documentation.
• Support technical quality assurance activities.
• Work effectively within large project teams, managing aggressive timelines and changing priorities.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-client web applications.
• 10+ years of Java development experience with Oracle and/or SQL databases.
• 5+ years of experience with REST APIs and RESTful Web Services.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Experience developing Internet-ready applications.
• Knowledge of Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.

Technical Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge of security gateways and protocols (e.g., JWT, OAuth 2.0, SSL Certificates).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming and related best practices.
• Experience with relational and hierarchical databases and query languages.
• Strong application design, deployment, troubleshooting, and debugging capabilities.

Oracle & Database Development Experience

• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite customizations.
• Strong Oracle database development skills (PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix Shell Scripting, ODI).
• Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite modules (GL, AR, Collections, AP, INV).
• Strong SQL performance tuning experience.

Additional Technical Assets

• Java application development experience.
• Experience with Oracle ADF, middleware, and gateway technologies.
• Knowledge of Information Management principles.

Work Arrangement

Onsite – 5 Days per Week
