Job Description

Halogen Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tools and services in support of Atlassian’s products including Jira and Confluence. The Software Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers to enhance productivity and streamline workflows. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, documenting, maintaining, and enhancing software systems based on documented requirements, along with resolving software problem reports and providing input to system design.

Requirements

• Experience using Linux CLI and Linux tools.
• Experience writing Bash/PHP scripts to automate administrative tasks and workflows.
• Recent software development experience using Python and Java.
• Experience using integrated development environments such as the Atlassian plugin software developer kit (SDK).
• Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Experience in creating documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes.
• Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration.

Desired Skills

• Experience with sustaining mission applications deployed in a Linux environment.
• Experience with interacting/training external customers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer in relevant programs.
• OR Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus seven (7) years of experience.
• OR Nine (9) years of experience as a Software Engineer in relevant programs.

Location and Security Clearance

Location: Fort Meade, MD

Security Clearance: Current TS/SCI with Polygraph is required (must be less than seven years old).

Salary Range

The projected compensation range for this position is $227K to $241K (annualized USD).

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, skills, and experience.
