Job Description
Baseline Media & Entertainment is the media and entertainment arm of Romulus Group, focused on building entertainment platforms that connect audiences through various mediums such as television, radio, digital content, and live events. The team, comprising creative and commercial professionals, aims to create engaging audience experiences and develop valuable partnerships. They are currently seeking a Political Presenter / Correspondent to support political coverage across Base FM 101.1 and Base TV following the expansion of their news and current affairs programming.
The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, interpreting, and presenting political developments and current affairs, requiring strong knowledge of politics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage live discussions. Additional flexibility to support broader media functions is necessary as operational needs arise.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mass Communication, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Law, History, or a related discipline (NYSC discharge or exemption certificate is required).
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in broadcast journalism or political media, including three (3) years of on-air experience.
- Proven experience presenting on television and radio.
- Experience in political reporting, current affairs programming, campaign coverage, and interview processes.
- Strong research and communication abilities regarding political developments.
- Postgraduate qualifications or membership in professional bodies will be advantageous.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian and international politics, governance, and public affairs.
- Working knowledge of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code and election coverage guidelines.
- Understanding of electoral processes and governance structures.
- Familiarity with broadcast production tools and practices.
- Strong script writing and programme development skills.
- Active digital and social media presence.
- Excellent spoken English and interviewing skills.
- Ability to work confidently in live and recorded environments.

Additional Information
Screen Test Requirement: Candidates must submit a 3-5 minute screen test video with their CV, featuring a presentation on a current political issue and an outline of interview questions for a relevant public official.
