Job Description

The Junior Software Developer will provide a range of technical and business capabilities to DMS Digital and related engagements. Responsibilities include solution development, data analysis, business analysis, systems analysis, quality assurance, and documentation, as required for individual projects. The role involves quickly filling capability gaps in engagements to ensure timely and quality delivery of outcomes, utilizing broad technical knowledge and analytical skills.

Requirements

• Good understanding of data concepts such as data modelling, data management, data quality, master data management, reference data, reporting and visualisation, and AI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to breakdown complex issues and propose data-driven solutions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to tell a compelling story with structured thoughts, including data visualisations to support arguments.
• Independent working capability with a strategic mindset focused on delivering high-quality solutions that meet client expectations.
• Exceptional time management skills to manage multiple priorities across various responsibilities.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Knowledge of project and programme management principles.
• Programming skills in SQL, Python, or similar data manipulation languages.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop), including ETL/ELT and data warehousing experience.
• Familiarity with data modelling techniques and data architecture principles.

Desired Technical Skillset

• Programming skills in SQL, Python, or similar languages pertinent to data manipulation and scripting.
• Exposure to low-code development/automation platforms such as Power Platform and Zoho.
• Experience in using data visualization tools like Power BI to create MI Dashboards.
• Exposure to Generative AI prompting on platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Solution Development: Prototype or develop technical solutions using low-code/no-code, robotic process automation, or traditional programming languages.

Systems Analysis: Review existing systems and design future technical solutions, including system diagrams and data models.

Solution Deployment, Testing & Support: Contribute to configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of technology solutions.

Requirements & Analysis: Gather and document business requirements; analyze current processes for improvement opportunities.

Technical Requirements Definition: Create specifications to develop technology solutions based on business needs.

Data & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data for process design and reporting.

Data Governance & Quality: Support the development of data governance and quality standards.

Quality Issue Feedback: Provide quality metrics feedback to stakeholders.

Principles and Standards: Contribute to reviews of technical activity principles and standards.

Best Practice: Assist in developing best practice guidance across activities within DMS Digital.

Internal Relationships: Build and improve relationships with technical support functions across Deloitte.

Risk Management: Support risk control development and management related to DMS Digital activities.

Contract Length: 6 months, likely to convert to permanent
