Job Description

A local Waco business is seeking a creative and reliable Freelance Social Media Manager + Content Creator to assist on a project-based, independent contractor basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating original content across popular social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

Requirements

Pay: $18/hour

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week on average

Position: Freelance / Independent Contractor / Project-Based

Location: Waco, Texas

Applicants must be local to Waco or the surrounding area. This is not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Create original content for TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Attend local businesses, events, and scheduled content shoots in the Waco area.
• Photograph products, people, businesses, events, and behind-the-scenes content.
• Shoot and edit Reels and TikToks.
• Create custom-designed graphics, carousels, Stories, and social posts.
• Write captions and calls to action that fit each brand.
• Develop creative concepts and bring new content ideas to the table.
• Stay current on social trends, audio, platform changes, and content styles.
• Maintain a polished and consistent brand look.
• Work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a genuine understanding of social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, and demonstrate skills in creating platform-specific content. Strong photography skills are required, with an understanding of composition, lighting, posing, and editing. Strong graphic design skills are also essential, with a preference for original, custom-designed graphics over AI-generated designs.

Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Lightroom, Photoshop, CapCut, or similar programs is advantageous.

Portfolio Requirement

A portfolio highlighting your work is required for consideration. This should include examples of custom graphics you’ve designed, photography you’ve shot and edited, videos you’ve created, and social media accounts you’ve managed. Only submissions of work you personally created are acceptable.

Position Details

This freelance independent contractor position will average approximately 10 hours per week at $18 per hour, although hours may vary depending on projects and content needs. Candidates must be available for in-person content creation throughout the Waco area, which involves photography, video, events, and scheduled shoots.

We seek someone who can take direction while also contributing their own ideas. The ideal candidate should be dependable, organized, creative, comfortable working independently, and confident in managing projects from concept to finished content.
