Job Description

Are you a hands-on DevOps Engineer who loves automation, cloud technology, and solving complex problems? Join a high-performing technical team where you’ll play a key role in modernising cloud infrastructure, driving Kubernetes adoption, strengthening security, and accelerating software delivery.

Requirements

Essential Technical Skills:

  • Matric + Bachelor’s Degree — RHCE, ISO 27001 or PCI certifications are advantageous
  • Strong Linux expertise across Linux-based operating systems
  • Azure Cloud Infrastructure Certification – Must Have
  • Docker & Kubernetes containerisation
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Jenkins and/or GitLab CI
  • Scripting & Development: Bash, Python, PHP, Perl, Java or Go
  • Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef or SaltStack
  • Web Servers: Apache, Nginx, PHP-FPM and Node.js
  • Load Balancing technologies and environments
  • NoSQL & Distributed Technologies: Redis, MongoDB, Pub/Sub and Key/Value stores
  • Replication technologies
  • Messaging & Queues: RabbitMQ / MQ

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Provide Level 1, 2 and 3 operational support across Azure environments, working closely with client engineering teams.
  • Design, develop and implement new Azure services, including technical documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring and skills transfer where required.
  • Support the development and enhancement of security controls, policies and governance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, security, reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in after-hours or scheduled change activities when required.
  • Work as an on-premise resource, collaborating with remote engineering teams.
  • Become an integral part of the team and remain flexible and hands-on across changing priorities.
  • Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement, rather than simply reacting to incidents.

Additional Information

This role involves collaborating closely with Development, Testing, and Operations teams while playing a key part in the organisation’s journey towards adopting modern cloud practices and technologies.
