Job Description

Our client, a well-established department store and online retailer in the Vaal Triangle, is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Junior Photographer to join its team in Duncanville, Vereeniging. The business carries a wide range of fashion and lifestyle products, and clear, consistent, high-quality product imagery is central to how its customers see and buy its ranges. This is an ideal next step for an emerging photographer who wants hands-on commercial experience in a fast-paced retail environment, working to a professional standard from day one.

The Junior Photographer photographs products for the business’s online and marketing channels, then edits and prepares those images so that every item is presented accurately and consistently. The role works closely with the wider team to keep pace with new stock, product launches, and promotional deadlines in a high-volume environment.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• A portfolio showing product, e-commerce or commercial photography (studio, freelance, or strong personal work)
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Lightroom, or equivalent editing software
• Sound understanding of camera settings, lighting, and composition
• A sharp eye for detail, colour accuracy, and visual consistency
• Reliable transport to Duncanville, Vereeniging

Advantageous:

• A diploma, certificate or short course in photography or visual media
• 6–12 months’ experience in product, fashion or e-commerce photography, including internships or freelance work
• Experience with batch editing and high-volume image workflows
• Basic product styling experience, e.g., flat lays, ghost mannequin, or on-model shoots
• Exposure to online store platforms or content management systems
