Job Description

Our client, a well-established department store and online retailer in the Vaal Triangle, is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Junior Photographer to join its team in Duncanville, Vereeniging. The business carries a wide range of fashion and lifestyle products and trades both in store and online, making high-quality product imagery central to how its customers see and buy its ranges. This role is an ideal next step for an emerging photographer seeking hands-on commercial experience in a fast-paced retail environment.

The Junior Photographer will photograph products for the business’s online and marketing channels and edit these images to present items accurately and consistently. The role requires close collaboration with the wider team to keep pace with new stock, product launches, and promotional deadlines.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• A portfolio showcasing product, e-commerce, or commercial photography (studio, freelance, or strong personal work)
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Lightroom, or equivalent editing software
• Sound understanding of camera settings, lighting, and composition
• A sharp eye for detail, colour accuracy, and visual consistency
• Reliable transport to Duncanville, Vereeniging

Advantageous

• A diploma, certificate, or short course in photography or visual media
• 6–12 months’ experience in product, fashion, or e-commerce photography, including internships or freelance work
• Experience with batch editing and high-volume image workflows
• Basic product styling experience, e.g. flat lays, ghost mannequin, or on-model shoots
• Exposure to online store platforms or content management systems
