Job Description

DB Freedom Network is seeking responsible Field Videographers for an ongoing, project-based independent contractor opportunity producing public-interest, educational, and First Amendment-related video content. This position involves recording activities and interactions in public settings and other locations where recording is authorized. Contractors may be offered recurring assignments based on available projects, reliability, quality of work, and contractor availability.

Responsibilities

• Record clear, usable video and audio during accepted field assignments.
• Produce footage for public-interest, educational and First Amendment-related content.
• Capture establishing shots and supporting footage when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and continuous recordings when required by an accepted project.
• Preserve original, unedited footage.
• Securely transfer footage following an assignment.
• Provide basic notes regarding significant events when required.
• Maintain professional conduct while working around members of the public, businesses and government facilities.
• Protect confidential or unpublished project information.

Professional Conduct and Safety

This is a videography/content-production position. Contractors are not law-enforcement officers and are not authorized to represent themselves as government officials or law-enforcement personnel. Contractors must conduct assignments lawfully and professionally. They may not trespass, enter restricted areas without authorization, threaten or harass individuals, intentionally interfere with employees or officials, impersonate law enforcement, or intentionally create or escalate confrontations for content. Safety takes priority over obtaining footage; contractors should disengage from situations presenting an immediate safety risk and contact emergency services when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation.
• Access to a smartphone or camera capable of recording clear HD-quality video.
• Ability to record usable audio.
• Reliable communication and internet access.
• Ability to securely transfer large video files.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in public environments.
• Ability to follow applicable project, safety and recording requirements.
• Previous videography or content-creation experience is preferred but not required for every assignment.
• Regional travel availability is preferred but not required for all projects.

Schedule

This is flexible, project-based contract work. Available projects may occur during weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Contractors may accept or decline individual project opportunities. There are no guaranteed hours or guaranteed number of assignments.

Compensation

Compensation is project-based. Individual project scope, deliverables, and compensation are disclosed before an assignment is accepted. Estimated potential gross contract compensation is approximately $20,000–$90,000 per year, depending on available projects, accepted assignments, project complexity, travel requirements, and completed deliverables. Higher-value compensation may be available for extended assignments, regional travel, specialized recording requirements, or larger production projects. The advertised annual compensation range represents estimated potential gross independent-contractor compensation. It is not a guaranteed salary, guaranteed minimum income, guaranteed number of hours, or promise of a specific amount of annual work.

Long-Term Opportunity

This position is intended for contractors interested in an ongoing relationship with DB Freedom Network. Contractors who consistently provide professional, reliable, and high-quality work may be considered for recurring assignments, regional projects, and higher-value production opportunities. This is an independent contractor opportunity. Contractors are responsible for applicable taxes and ordinary business expenses except when otherwise stated in an accepted project agreement or required by applicable law.
