Content Creator for LA County community health nonprofit organization.
TENA is a community-centric nonprofit that aims to bring preventive healthcare services to historically underserved, under-resourced, and marginalized communities. The organization focuses on empowering individuals with the tools, knowledge, and resources to lead healthy lives.
About the Role
The Content Creator will collaborate with TENA leadership to create and produce engaging social media content that highlights the organization’s programs and community outreach efforts. This role includes content strategy, on-site content capture, and photo/video editing. Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn is essential, as well as the ability to capture live content during outreach events throughout Los Angeles County.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with TENA leadership to brainstorm and strategize social media content ideas.
- Identify social media trends and adapt them to TENA’s audience, mission, and voice.
- Develop content for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn tailored to each platform’s audience.
- Attend designated TENA outreach events to capture high-quality photos and videos.
- Capture short-form video, interviews, and event highlights for visual storytelling.
- Edit photos and videos into polished social media content.
- Create platform-specific content such as Reels and TikToks.
- Organize and maintain digital assets for future use.
- Stay updated on social media trends and best practices.
- Collaborate on ideas to enhance TENA’s social media presence.
- Follow guidelines regarding consent and respectful representation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Experience in creating and editing short-form social media content.
- Understanding of current social media trends and best practices.
- Ability to independently capture and edit high-quality content.
- Creativity and strong visual storytelling skills.
- Able to work collaboratively and independently.
- Reliable transportation for attending TENA events.
- Available on the second and third Saturday of each month.
- Must provide own laptop for content-related work.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Strongly encouraged:
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates.
- Familiarity with Los Angeles County communities.
- Interest in community health, health equity, and nonprofit work.
Portfolio Requirement
Applicants must submit examples of original content that they have created independently, including all aspects from concept to final product.
Equipment
TENA will provide basic content creation equipment such as camera equipment, microphones, and basic editing software. The contractor must have their own laptop for photo and video editing work.
Compensation & Contract
This position is a grant-funded independent contractor (1099) role, compensated at $30 per hour from October 2026 - January 2027, with a maximum contract value of $15,000. Availability on designated Saturdays is required.
